This statement answers so many questions related to runescape, money making, skills and training.
Now i’m not saying that once you know something new, magically money will appear in your bank (if only) but what I am saying more oppurtunities will open up to make money, to train faster and to prevent you from being scammed.
- Merchanting
- Quests
- Scamming
Merchanting
There are so many guides out there that recommend merchanting lobsters or seeds for eg. and many just touch on the point that I am about to make, many state that the rule is to “Buy low and Sell High” although that this is the number one rule to follow when merchanting many people are clueless about what to merchant. Many think that there is almost only one way to merchant and one way only, but the trick to merchanting is to the know the values of items and whether easy or hard to sell. So if one day your standing in a local bank and people are calling out what they are buying and selling you have the knowledge to know the good deals you can make and the bad deals.
Conclusion : The more you know about the values and the requirements of the items that are for sale the more you know about the price range the seller will accept and what other people will offer if in desperation.
The more you know about the items the more deals you can make
So what I recommend is that you:
Read the forums regularly to look at the items most demanded and the items most sold.
Read Item guides to look at the way inflation has caused items prices to drop and rise.
Quests
One of major icons in runescape that offers benifits for completion is Quests, they not only offer rewards for completing them but also have “aftershocks” that help with profit and most of all training and experience. A very good example of my point is the “Creature of Fenkenstrain” quest. As this quest rewards 2 quest points (A particular number to complete other quests), a Ring of Charos (that effects other quests and possbile experience gain in other activities) and 1k thieving experience (this could possibly result in a theiving level up reaching other activities that could be done). The biggest aftershock after completing this quest is the ability to kill the “experiements that are able to be reached during the completion of this quest” these experiments have a low combat level of 25 with a huge hitpoints level of 125, making these 500 experience after killing them. Resulting in faster leveling and more time.
Conclusion :The more quests/areas opened the more possible experience gained, knowledge gained and rewards collected.
The more quests you have done the more activities/ things you can do.
So what I recommend is that you:
Create a goal (certain level) in a skill that you wan to achieve, research the skill and find possible quests that could give you more experience and give you more variety in the skill, this way you would be less bored and have faster experience.
Scamming
Now the only thing that could take away your money/effort is being scammed of you money which results in your condifence and enthusiasm affected. There are many scammers out their claming to sell something of high value when what they are selling is only of little value. The most often items that are claimed to be of high value or rarity are:
- 4-dose potions
- Charcoal
- Crushed gemstone
- Elemental shields
- Gnome ball
- Shantay disclaimer
- Half-pizzas
- Colored gloves
- Gold nuggets
- The Shield of Arrav (both halves)
- Eye patches,
- Lit arrows
- Black staffs
- Shade robes
- Sliced bananas
- Alcohols
- Snelms (Snail Helmets)
- Bark
- Flamtaer hammers
- Farming equipment
- Rock hammer(in relation to granite maul or great axe)
- Burnt bones.
Most of the items that are used by scammers are results of Quests. These are called Quest Items are often non tradable or worthless.
Conclusion :Beware of quest items / worthless items traded for higher value
The more quests/ activities you have done the less chance of being scammed.
So what I recommend is that you:
Do as many quests as poissble to lessen the chance of you being tricked.
Read Item guides to look at the real items that people claim to be selling.
Read anti scam guides that are up to date to look at recently brought out scams and tricks.
